Lecanto Sand Mine
The sand mine and dirt pit operation in Lecanto was purchased by Dirt Boys, Inc. to expand its operations
Lecanto, Fla., – Tampa Bay area land brokerage firm RedElk Land Co. announced today the successful sale of a 97.9-acre land plot located in Lecanto, FL with Dirt Boys, Inc., a sand mine and dirt pit operation company located in Citrus County.
The purchased land will be used to mine and sell its material. Located nearby the 13-mile Suncoast Parkway extension, it is anticipated that it will provide some of the material to build its roadway. Once a thriving sand mine and dirt pit operation, the property went into foreclosure due to economic downturn and the ailing health of its former owner. The property was also once an incineration facility that would take in yard and construction debris.
Wells Fargo Bank foreclosed on the property and hired RedElk to exclusively market and sell the property in its entirety. Prior to its sale, RedElk sourced numerous potential buyers and multiple offers.
“We’re pleased to announce this nearly 100-acre land sale,” said Bill Short, president of RedElk Land Co. “We’ve become experts in marketing and selling large land tracts in Citrus County, and we look forward to the opportunity to continue expanding our services to those in need of large land property assistance throughout Florida.”
RedElk specializes in the marketing, sales, and analysis of medium and large land tracts in Florida. Other recent projects within the state include the closing of a 265-acre timber tract with planted pines in Citrus County and a 33-unit, single family development in Brandon.
